Not bad

A bit jaggy and awkward in some areas, like the lower jaw. Also the light, tentacle, tendril bulb thingy feels more 2D because its not emitting a glow on the surrounding environment at all and has no texture to it. He would really look nice if you added some super bright highlights on him as well to show just how bright that light thing is.

Congratulations

Looks like you figured out how to use photoshop filters and the liquify tool....

Saigon responds:

corrections there are no filters just the liquify tool, the filters are leftovers from the other artwork i did before this.
Thanks for the review anyways :)

Nice tone

Top of the head is a bit wonky but its understandable when drawing from a live model, some things just cant get as addressed as others.

You mention the light on the back arm and leg but i dont think you are giving enough credit to the torso side and the tit. There are some really well executed reflected light and shadow work going on there that dwarfs the arms and leg in my opinion. Its also the only area that really looks round, where as the areas you mentioned are a bit sharp and jagged the way the light cuts across it.

TheNooch responds:

I see what you mean about the breast.

I'm not sure I see what your talking about when you say some of the light is jagged, though. I think the shadow cast by her arm on her leg shows the movement of her figure pretty well.

Thanks for the comment. =)

Excellent pencil work

The detail in the clothes is fantastic as well as the small little moments in the bricks and wall textures.

The faces however get a bit wonky and simplified, which is always a difficulty in a drawing where so much attention is payed to the inanimate objects that when it comes to a recognizable human feature the detail of the scenery takes over and makes the face look flat or overly simplified.

Awsome

Normaly im not that into sculptures. But i love how his skin looks like bacon even though it isnt. The tiny set of teeth are even more awsome as are the other small details (rips in the clothes, ect.) and ad this great level of personality to him making him more than just a measly doll.

Digging the Flow

I love the way the viewer moves throughout the piece, starting at the bottom which is firmly grounded then drifting away with the bubbles.

Really would have liked to see one of the bubbles overlap with one of the birds and the distortion it would have caused.

LaserKarl responds:

Thank you! Its one of my facourites!

You're right, the overlap of a bird would have added tons to this image. Good point!

Elegant

Like the lighting on this one and the simplistic background that even though not much is going on in it it works perfectly with the piece.

Halvgoeden responds:

Thank you. Though next time I might bring the camera in a little bit closer if I ever decide to re-render this.

Well Done

Reminds me of Escher's Eye. Would like to see a tiny bit more attention paid to the area around the eye. You really got the inside workings of the eyeball but if you paid as much attention to the surrounding area it would really have helped the whole piece.
