Thanks for the info! I had no idea what this whole "scouting" thing was about, but you've more explained it. I'll definitely upload more work when I get the chance!

This is extremely helpful! Thank you! I didn't know there was an unscouted art portal. :D I am a little bit less stupid, everyday! Is there a suggested time to post art, when it will get the most views? Or is it more or less the same results each time? Well thank you for the information. :)
There isn't really a best time for the most part to submit art. The art portal doesn't move terribly quick so as long as your thumbs look intriguing enough people will check your stuff out. Its a cheap trick and personally I hate that the portal is being clogged with it, and users resort to it to often, but sticking tits in the thumb is almost a guarantee for more views than a piece deserves.
Thanks!
Hi,
Thanks a lot for the info, it really helped me because I'm new here and I didn't get all that "scouting" matter.
However, if it's not too bold to ask... why it is considered bad asking to be scouted? I'm just curious, nothing else.
Cheers!
We want to discourage begging, if there wasnt a rule in place the forums and pm boxes would be flooded with threads and messages that read "OMG I DID ARTZ PLEASE SCOUT ME!" We already get a few of those to begin with even with the rule, so without it in place you can just imagine how irritating all the begging would get.
thanks
Thanks for this ^_^ I was wondering what is whole this scouting thing and now it makes sense :)
Thanks for the info!, I have just submitted 5 of my planes, and I am willing to wait.
I have 2 questions.
1) how would I go about checking who is scouting me? Because I had no idea what she outing was but got the notification about it and just pressed accept just because it sounded helpful. (the word itself sounded helpful)
2) if I don't like the scouter or whatever how can I leave or become unscouted?
Just check your scouters profile to see what their stuff is like to decide if you like them or not. If however you choose that you no longer want to be scouted after accepting a request, then contact an art mod and we can prune you (or audio mod if its audio you were referring to)
I meant like.... How can you see who is scouting you when you don't remember their name. :(
Can you be scouted by more than one user or can you only choose one you'd prefer to be scouted by?
You can only be scouted by one user at a time. And to my current knowledge once you accept a scout request it nullifies the other requests.
Why don't they have an area in the art gallery that allows you to look at unscouted peoples work, so they may be scouted easier. Cause I got people who have came across my stuff from my other ports and on here, paying me in SL for my work but no one is scouting me.
They do have an area for that. Its the unscouted section, only scouted users can see it. To increase visibility, keep submitting work. Each new piece you submit jumps to the front of the unscouted section. If you reach your cap of work submitted delete the old bad stuff that is obviously not going to get you scouted and replace it with new good stuff.
Hi. This is maybe a stupid question, but how do I know who scouted me?
Underneath your art on your art page http://xavy-027.newgrounds.com/art/ You will see "scouted by ____"
In your case its zalfurius
I had no idea there was such a thing. This entry was very very useful. Thanks!
Newgrounds-Everything, by everyone (unless you suck)
Your guide was just recommended to me as I just submitted my first content...very informative, thanks for taking the time to write it all out. I'm sure I'll be using as a guide as I move forward.
One more thing...I have read through the guide and am still having trouble finding where I can make my submission public. Do I need to unpublish and then re-publish my work for me to be given the option again, or is there just something I'm missing?
Quick question, why do people race to scout good artists? What benefits do you get for scouting artists?
No inherent benefit. Some people might like the stat, others feel proud about being the one to have scouted a good artist. Some feel the artist is good enough that they deserve to be in the portal ASAP. You could also say that you get the added benefit of people viewing that artist a lot, and then noticing your name as the scouter and checking out your work out of curiosity.
It's handy indeed, thanks!
Thanks a lot for the explanation :P

I'm a little desperate by thinking my work sucks. But Show must go on. :D
